Best Time to Visit Seville
Like many other European countries, you will find that the peak season in Seville tends to be around May – Early September. You will find that during this time of year a lot of Europeans go on their Summer holidays and Seville is no different so it can get crowded at times.
With this in mind, we would say that this is not the best time to visit Seville because it will be very busy with tourists because it is also a very warm time of year. Even if you’re just visiting Seville for 1 day, you still want to make sure that you’re there during an optimal time!
In our opinion the best time to visit Seville so that you can still take advantage of the nice weather but when there are less crowds would be September – November or February – April. Generally speaking, the weather is quite mild and pleasant but because it is outside of the tourist season, you can enjoy a lot of the attractions in Seville without large queues and crowds.
Cheapest Time to Visit Seville
As budget travellers, we try to visit most destinations outside of the peak seasons because you will find that during this time, the prices are hiked up a lot.
If you’re on a budget and looking to visit Seville at a cheaper time then we would recommend visiting between December – February. You will find that the weather will be much cooler but you will be able to get much cheaper flights and accommodations because it is during the off-peak season.
However, if you’re still looking to visit when the weather is pleasant then between September – November is also a good time to visit and it is not too expensive either!

Generally speaking you can expect high temperatures of 15 degrees / 59 degrees Fahrenheit and low temperatures of 6 degrees / 43 degrees Fahrenheit. As you can expect, in the evening the temperatures can drop quite quickly.
If you’re planning to visit Seville in January then we would recommend some warm jumpers for the evening as it can get a little chilly. With this in mind, if you’re like us and live in Scotland then this is just a normal day!
Even though the temperatures are much cooler, you will usually find around 8 days of rain in Seville in January which is honestly a lot less than we would expect!
January in Seville is not a bad time to visit because you will find that flights and accommodation are much cheaper because it is the off-peak season. However, if you’re planning to visit Seville in January just make sure that you pack some warm clothes and an umbrella!
Seville Weather in February
Very similar to January, you will find that February in Seville is still the low season for tourists so it is a great time to visit if you’re wanting to avoid busy crowds.
The weather in Seville during February is slightly warmer than January with the high temperatures sitting at around 17 Degrees / 63 Fahrenheit. Whilst it may not be quite warm enough for shorts and t-shirts most days, the temperatures definitely start to heat up this time of year.
Even though the temperatures start to get a bit warmer, it can still be chilly in the evenings with low temperatures of 7 degrees / 45 degrees Fahrenheit. Due to this, you are still going to want to take a jumper for the evening so that you won’t get too cold.
However, in February the rain does start to decrease in Seville because you can expect only 6 days of rain throughout the month.
February is a cheaper time to visit Seville because it is somewhat of a busier time to visit so we consider it a medium peak season but as it can still be a little rainy, it is still a quieter time of year. Due to this, if you’re a budget traveller then February could be a really great time to visit Seville.
Seville Weather in March
Even though the temperature does heat up in Seville during March, you will find that there are more frequent rainfall showers. Generally speaking, you will expect to see approximately 9 days of rain throughout March. If you’re planning to visit in March then we definitely recommend taking an umbrella just in case you get caught in one of these spring showers.
What we will say is that you can expect high temperatures of around 20 degrees / 68 degrees Fahrenheit so now that the temperatures are starting to get into the 20’s, during the day you will be able to wear much lighter clothing.
One of the best parts about visiting in March is that because the temperatures are quite a bit higher than at the start of the year, you will be able to explore around the city enjoying the sights without worrying about the cold. As with most places, seeing a destination when the sun is shining really does make everything look so much prettier!
In the evenings, you will find that there are low temperatures in Seville of around 9 degrees / 48 degrees Fahrenheit so it is starting to warm up this time of year but it can still be a little chilly so it is worth still bringing a light jacket.

The evenings in Seville start to get a fair bit warmer in April with low temperatures of 11 degrees / 52 degrees Fahrenheit so you won’t have to worry too much about being cold. Most evenings you should be able to wander around without a jacket which is perfect!
April is still a medium busy tourist season so even though the temperatures are much warmer, you will still find that it is not as busy at the main attractions such as the Real Alcazar of Seville.
Seville Weather in May
You will find that in May that tourists begin to start flocking to Seville because it starts to hit the holiday season around Europe so this can be a high tourist season in Seville. May is still a good time to visit Seville because even though it does start to get busier, the temperatures are still much more comfortable than between June – August.
One of the biggest appeals to visit Seville in May is that the temperatures are lovely and warm but it is not too hot, which makes it too difficult to go sightseeing. On average, you can expect 27 degrees / 81 degrees Fahrenheit so you can explore throughout most of the day and head off for a siesta when the temperatures are at its highest or even lounge around the pool.
As you can imagine, with the temperatures being much warmer, the number of average rainfall days begin to decrease so you will find only around 6 days of rainfall during May.
This is a lovely time of year to visit Seville because whether you’re looking to relax or go sightseeing, you will be able to have the best of both worlds!
Seville Weather in June
If you’re looking to visit Seville for a relaxing, sunshine break then June could still be a wonderful time to visit. However, if you’re planning to do some heavy sightseeing, we would not recommend visiting during June because it will be much too warm during the day.
Despite the average high temperatures that can reach around 32 degrees / 90 degrees Fahrenheit, this is still a really busy time for tourists. If you’re looking for a quieter season to visit then June is probably not the best time. However, if you’re travelling as a family then June could be perfect as this is often when the kids are off school!
In the evenings, it can reach low temperatures of around 17 degrees / 63 Degrees Fahrenheit so you will definitely want to consider picking accommodation that has air-conditioning. You definitely won’t need a jacket for the evenings anymore!
In Seville during June, you may get to see 1 day of rainfall during the month. However, even if you do catch a day of rain it may actually be a welcome break from the heat.
Generally speaking, we would not recommend visiting Seville during June as it can be too warm to be able to see the sights and despite this it will be very busy with tourists.
Seville Weather in July
Very similar to June, Seville in July can be very hot so even though it is a great time to visit if you want to lounge around a swimming pool all day, it can be a little overbearing even then.
We visited Seville in September and the locals were telling us that during July and August they had to shut the shops for days at a time due to heatwaves. With this in mind, we would not recommend visiting in July or August. You may see high temperatures of 36 degrees / 97 degree Fahrenheit so it is definitely not the best weather for exploring.
You will find that surprisingly July is not too busy for tourists because a lot of places get closed because it gets too warm. Even in the evenings, the low temperatures can get to around 20 degrees / 68 degrees Fahrenheit so even at night, there is much escape from the heat.
With all this in mind, as you can expect, there are not any rainfall days within July in Seville. It really isn’t worth visiting during July unless you are literally planning to sit in the sun all day.
Seville Weather in August
August is very similar to July and it is not recommended to visit Seville during August because the weather is much too warm. As we mentioned during the July section, the locals were telling us that during July and August, a lot of the shops and the city closed down because the temperatures were too high.
August is still a low season to visit Seville but we absolutely do not recommend going during these months because you won’t be able to go out sightseeing or doing much other than lounging around a hotel pool. Generally speaking you can expect high temperatures of 36 degrees / 97 degree Fahrenheit the same as July.
There are no days of rainfall during August so there isn’t much relief from the heat either. Even though the heat can decrease during the evenings, the low temperatures in August are the same as July and can experience around 20 degrees / 68 degrees Fahrenheit.
Even though the prices of the flights may be tempting to visit Seville during this time of year, it really isn’t recommended because it will be too hot to be able to do much!
Seville Weather in September
We visited Seville in September as well and we actually found that it was a lovely time of year to visit. The temperatures were still really warm but comfortable enough to take advantage of all the amazing sights that Seville has to offer.
You’ll be pleased to know that in September the temperatures in Seville begin to slowly drop and start to get more comfortable. Even though high temperatures can reach around 32 degrees / 90 degrees Fahrenheit, the tourist season does slowly start to kick back in so you will find that it is medium-peak season during September.
In the evenings, the temperatures do start to become a little more comfortable reaching low temperatures of around 18 degrees / 64 degrees Fahrenheit. You will still need air-conditioning at your hotel but it is definitely a much better season than July and August that is for sure!
During September, you can experience approximately 2 days of rainfall on average which is very much needed to clear the humidity in the air! Even though it is still quite hot during September, it is definitely cool enough to explore as well as appreciate the beautiful city in the sunshine.
Seville Weather in October
We’ve visited a few different areas of Spain during October and we find that this is a really comfortable time of year and Seville is no different in that respect.
In October, the temperatures drop quite quickly in Seville so you will see high temperatures of 26 degrees / 79 degrees Fahrenheit. This is a very comfortable time of year to visit Seville where you will be able to get plenty of sightseeing done as well as catching a little bit of a tan whilst you’re at it.
With the drop in the high temperatures, the low temperatures in Seville also do come down a little bit so you may want to start packing a light jacket for the evening again. With 14 degrees / 57 degrees Fahrenheit as low temperatures, it is still warm in the evening so even without a light jacket you will be able to wander around comfortably.
This is still somewhat of a medium tourist season, you will find that there are still quite a few tourists but it is not quite the peak season.
With the slight drop in temperature, there are also more rainfall days with around 6 rainy days on average in Seville during October.
Overall, we would say that despite the rain, October is still a great time to visit Seville as you will get to enjoy warm temperatures, plenty of sightseeing and less crowds too.
Seville Weather in November
Believe it or not with the festive season nearly upon us, the high temperatures in Seville are still around 20 degrees / 68 degrees Fahrenheit. This is also a high season in Seville so it is still fairly quiet but yet warm for tourists to explore and wander around.
You will find that the temperatures in the evening drops quite a lot compared to the previous months so you will want to take a warm jumper so that you can feel comfortable. Low temperatures will hit around 10 degrees / 50 degrees Fahrenheit so it can get a little chilly at times.
Even though the temperatures are much cooler, it is still quite busy because this is a great time to sightsee but it is much more enjoyable to visit during this period. You may find some grey, cloudy days at times as it is predicted to have around 7 days of rainfall on average. However, this is not something that should stop you travelling to Seville in November.
In our opinion, this is a lovely time to visit Seville especially if you want to get a lot of sightseeing done!
Seville Weather in December
December is a peak season to visit Seville because despite that it is still fairly warm, a lot of people plan to visit during this period because Seville has some wonderful Christmas markets to visit.
As a result of this, visiting Seville during this time can be quite busy and crowded with tourists looking for a unique destination to experience Christmas markets in Europe.
High temperatures hit only around 16 degrees / 61 degrees Fahrenheit so depending on where you’re travelling from, you may still need to bring warm clothes with you. However, if you’re from somewhere cooler like us being from Scotland, this may actually be quite a warm temperature for you!
In the evening, temperatures can drop to around 7 degrees / 45 degrees Fahrenheit so even if you don’t need a jacket during the day you will definitely want one for the evening.
There are a lot more rainy days in December with 8 days of rain on average so it is definitely worth packing an umbrella to be sure.
Even though it is a busy season to visit Seville and the weather is not as warm, it is still a great time to visit as you will get to see the city in a different light and all the Christmas decorations too!

Seville is a beautiful city with plenty of amazing sights and attractions for tourists no matter what you like to do when you’re travelling.
If you’re someone that likes to do a lot of sightseeing then we would definitely recommend avoiding visiting Seville between June – August because the heat can become a little unbearable during this period which will make sightseeing difficult.
However, if you’re someone that likes travelling to new destinations to lay in the sun and relax then booking a great hotel with a pool during June – August may be just what you’re looking for.
However, if you are someone that wants to see as many sights as possible then consider travelling to Seville between September – November or February – April. You will find that the temperatures are a lot cooler and there are not as many tourists so popular attractions will not be as crowded.
