15 Instagram Spots in Barcelona

1. Bunkers El Camel

We’re not going to make you wait until the end to hear about the best Instagrammable place in Barcelona. If you’re planning even just a day in Barcelona then this panoramic viewpoint absolutely needs to be on your itinerary!

For any couples that are visiting the city, this is easily up there as one of the most romantic spots to visit. Grab a picnic and head up to Bunkers del Carmel a little while before sunset. Find a perfect spot to sit down with your loved one and watch the sunset over the city.

This is one of our favourite places to visit in Barcelona and if you add this onto your itinerary you will not be disappointed. If you’re planning to visit for the sunset then we recommend trying to get there quite early as it can get very busy so you will want to be in a good spot to watch the sunset.

2. Parc de la Ciutadella

On a sunny day in Barcelona, instead of hitting the beach, why not head to one of the most beautiful parks in the city?

Parc de la Ciutadella is an incredibly picturesque location that will offer you not only incredible shots for Instagram but also plenty of joy!

When you visit Parc de la Ciutadella, one of the most beautiful sights to see is the Castle of the Three Dragons. It is renowned for its interesting architecture and of course the three dragons.

Within the park itself, you will also find multiple museums that you can visit too especially if you’re visiting Barcelona during the fall and the weather is not as bright as you’d want it to be. However, if the weather is on your side, it is amazing just strolling around the park and taking in all the greenery.

If that’s not enough for you then Barcelona’s zoo is also located within the park too so this is a great spot to take the family too!

3. Arc de Triomf

The Arc de Triomf leads right into Parc de la Ciutadella so if you’re visiting the park then this is another place that you absolutely don’t want to miss!

We were lucky enough to catch this beautiful monument at sunrise one morning and the colours that lit up the sky behind the monument was absolutely phenomenal.

Unlike the Arc de Trimoph in Paris, this particular one you will not be able to go to the top and appreciate the view unfortunately. However, it is still incredible to admire the monument from the ground and the surrounding area.

4. Parc Guell

When we first went to Barcelona, we weren’t sure that we were going to feel that bothered about going to Parc Guell. We thought that it may be a bit of an overrated attraction to visit in Barcelona.

After purchasing our Go City All-Inclusive Pass, we decided that as Parc Guell was an included attraction with the pass that we would give it a go! We went on a guided tour around Parc Guell and it is safe to say that we were not disappointed.

Surprisingly, it quickly became one of our favourite attractions to visit in Barcelona. This park is absolutely stunning to walk through and admire Gaudi’s incredible artwork.

What we found impressive is how much thought went into the creation of the architecture, so much so that it even has its own system to save rainwater and recycle it.

Our favourite spots to get some great Instagram photos is between the pillars which we’ve included below and of course there is also a great spot along the wall where you can get the lower area of the park in the background.

5. Casa Batllo

If it’s your first time visiting Barcelona then you will soon learn that Barcelona was truly Antoni Gaudi’s canvas and the entire city is a homage to years and years of his work.

Casa Batllo is no exception and it is truly a magnificent piece of architecture. We loved walking around and admiring the quirky highlights of this masterpiece.

You can head to the rooftop and capture some good views of Barcelona city too! For us, one of the biggest highlights was Gaudi’s Cube which is a 3D immersive experience. We found that this was an Instagrammable spot in itself and absolutely blew our minds!

6. Montserrat Mountains

If you’ve got a few days visiting the city then Montserrat Mountains is one of the best day trips from Barcelona that you can go on especially when it comes to finding picturesque spots for Instagram.

On these day tours to Montserrat from Barcelona, you will often be taken to the Montserrat Monastery as well as going to a local winery. From here, you will get stunning views of the mountains and surrounded greenery.

However, if you’re more of an independent traveller then you may want to take the train to get yourself to the top of the mountains. It is very easy to get there but we’ve created a travel guide to show you how to get to Montserrat from Barcelona to make it even easier for you!

This is an activity that you should not miss when visiting Barcelona because it is a truly beautiful place and will take your breath away!

7. Jardins de Laribal

In our opinion, this is an incredible hidden gem within Barcelona and a great way to take a step off of the beaten track! It can be found just off the back of Parc de Montjuic.

Often this spot is completely neglected because there is so much attention on the area around the museum and the impressive viewpoints that they offer.

However, Jardins de Laribal is its own oasis and is often not too busy because of it! You’ll find lots of different photo opportunities around the gardens so this is a place that cannot be missed.

When we visited the gardens, it was a really rainy day in Barcelona and yet the gardens were still stunning. We managed to get a couple of good snaps before we ran for more cover from the thunderstorm!

8. Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya

The museum of national art of Catalunya is one of the most impressive places to visit within the city. Not only is the museum impressive within itself but the views around the museum are absolutely phenomenal and plentiful.

You may be used to this but the one thing we always find really quirky about Barcelona is that if there are any places to reach that are on top of the hill then there are often outdoor escalators to take you there. We don’t know why but we find this such an awesome aspect and a great way to save your legs.

As the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya is on top of Parc de Montjuic, there are lots of escalators that will take you to the top where the museum is situated. We found that we were able to get some great reel content going up the escalators and revealing the view from the top!

As this is a popular spot for photography in Barcelona and for tourists to visit, you may find that at times it can be quite crowded. To avoid some of the busy spells, it is worth trying to visit early in the morning so that you can get some clearer photos.

If you also visit on certain days then visiting MNAC is a great free activity to do in Barcelona. You can get free entrance on Saturdays after 3pm and the first Sunday each month. However, if your trip doesn’t coincide with this then you can book your admission tickets below!

9. Parc de Joan Miro

If you’re looking for artsy Instagrammable places to visit in Barcelona then this park is somewhere that you will need to visit. You will find a few different statues around the park which makes a perfect background for Instagram.

You will find lots of locals around this park as it does tend to be less of a touristy spot but it is a lovely spot to relax and watch the locals wander around the park going about their daily life.

In honesty, our first impressions of Parc de Joan Miro was that it was quite an underwhelming place but the longer we spent there and wandered around, the more we could understand the appeal. In fairness, we did visit during a particularly rainy day so it probably wasn’t the best weather for it!

This is a lovely little spot but we would say that it is only worth visiting this Instagrammable place in Barcelona if it is within your route. The only reason we say this is whilst you will get some great Instagram photos, you will only be able to get a few from here.

10. Christopher Columbus Statue

This is another great Instagrammable spot in Barcelona that not as many people know about. If you’ve read our article on best free things to do in Barcelona then you may be tempted to go on the free walking tour in Barcelona. This is the tour that gave us the tip about being able to go to the top of the Christopher Columbus statue.

If you go on this free walking tour, you will be taken past the statue itself which will help you to orientate yourself. If you get closer to the statue, you will see that at the base of it, you can see that you can go underneath it which takes you to the museum.

This monument alone is a great photo spot in Barcelona but it is even better if you pay to go to the top and take in the beautiful viewpoint.

There are windows at the top of the viewpoint but they are very small so you will need to have a very steady hand with your camera to get the photos that you want to give the views justice.

11. Sagrada Familia

Gaudi’s masterpiece la Sagrada Familia is the reason why thousands of tourists flock to Barcelona every year to get a glimpse of this architectural wonder.

The Sagrada Familia is still under construction 120 years after it began and it is finally due to be completed in 2026 which is a very long awaited moment.

Just across from La Sagrada Familia there are some gardens which are great places to get some great photos of this incredible temple.

Within the temple itself, photography is unfortunately banned unless you have applied for permission for professional photography in advance. However, you will be able to get lots of incredible snaps outside the temple to make up for it.

12. Hotel Serhs Rivoli Rambla Rooftop

This was a rooftop that really surprised us to be honest! As a rule of thumb, we try not to visit anywhere down Las Ramblas just because this area is renowned in Europe for pickpockets. However, for once we did break this rule and we were not disappointed!

This rooftop bar is a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy a peaceful environment. It seems like not many tourists know about this spot just yet as we went here for the sunset and by the time the sun was setting, a lot of people were clearing out.

This was an incredible rooftop and has some stunning views across the city especially for the sunset. Let’s not forget to mention that there are some delicious cocktails on offer too!

13. Montjuic Fountain Show

Whether you’re travelling solo, as a couple or with your family, the Montjuic fountain show is something that you should not miss whilst you’re in Barcelona.

It may not be comparable to the fountain show in Vegas but it is still pretty impressive and an activity that will keep you entertained that’s for sure.

It is safe to say that you should be able to get some great photos from here but you may want to arrive for the fountain show quite early as it does get very busy!

The Magic Fountain Show runs at various different times so make sure that you check this in advance so that you can plan your visit! The show is completely free to attend so it is also a great activity for any travellers on a budget.

14. Montjuic Cable Car

You may have noticed that a lot of these Instagrammable spots in Barcelona are around the Montjuic area and that is because it has a lot to offer!

When the weather is good, take a ride on the Montjuic cable car to capture some awesome photos from up high! The cable car will take you to the Montjuic castle where once again you will find lots of different Barcelona Instagram spots too!

15. Mirador de l’Alcalde

Once you’re on the cable car, you will head straight to the Montjuic castle. However, on the way back you can choose to get off the optional stop called Mirador de l’Alcalde. If you have this opportunity then we absolutely recommend getting off at this viewpoint.

From here you will be able to wander around and get lost with some picturesque points from above overlooking the sea especially. We won’t spoil too much but this is another absolute gem for when you’re visiting Barcelona.
